Howdy! I’m Jessi.

A Trauma-Focused & Holistic Therapist specializing in Burnout, Anxiety, & People-Pleasing Therapy for Women in Fort Wayne, Indiana

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Indiana with a zealousness to aid women in discovering freedom of self-expression, balance, and ease again (or maybe, even, for the very first time)!

I’m also passionate about addressing complex trauma and the myriad of ways these experiences impact us as human beings, and can sometimes inform patterns of people-pleasing and anxious attachments within women.

I have a history of complex trauma and am able to speak from a place of empathy from personal adversity I’ve overcome through my own life experiences.

It’s tempting to fall into the belief that our own suffering and adversity disqualifies us from a place of leadership and influence.

Something I’ve learned as my own journey has unfolded over time? It’s often hard to counsel others within their own dark places if you’ve never experienced your own.

I’ve been a client and sat on the couch. I know how much courage it can take to schedule your first counseling session. I also know how hard it can be to open up about something sensitive for the very first time, and how anxiety-provoking it can feel to lean into trusting another with that sacred information.

I also know what it feels like to wrestle with heavy topics and feel paralyzed by life’s question marks, trauma, loss, and relationship struggles. I’ve been the burned-out/over-giver who spent a lot of time undervaluing my own worth, because I used to believe my only purpose was to serve others at the perpetual cost of my own emotional and physical well-being.

I also know what it takes to step BEYOND these things into life-giving relationships and true, unabashed authenticity.

I’ve walked the walk. I practice what I say. I’ve been in the trenches and I have a deep desire to help you transcend the labyrinth to see the sun again as well!

I not only possess “book” knowledge from my collegiate education, but also experiential application of said knowledge through clinical training experiences in a variety of mental healthcare contexts.

I’ve worked within inpatient hospitalization settings with individuals in acute crises, and have additional clinical therapy experience in both community mental health and private practice domains.

I am also EMDR trained.

Although I have experience, I also know that there’s always more to learn.

One thing I can confidently say is that I’ll always be honest with you.

And if I don’t have an answer, I’m more than game on exploring your inner terrain to find it alongside you.

Collaboration is a really important part of the therapeutic process. This means that active participation plays a critical role in penning a healthier, brighter future.

some fun facts

You can typically find me ….

lurking in the woods, inserting SpongeBob references anywhere they could potentially belong.

Lifting weights, rope-flowing, writing poetry, reading, night skating, antiquing, gaming, jamming to any music under the sun, watching classic film …

and playing with my 3 back-talking Siberian Huskies – (whose voices I often imitate as I’ve imagined them to be in my head when they’re exceptionally loud and need everyone to know it).

I value compassion, integrity, and authenticity.
