Howdy! I’m Jessi = )

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the State of Indiana with a huge passion for addressing complex trauma and the myriad of ways these experiences impact us as human beings.

I’m also able to speak from a place of lived experience and empathy from my own journey in healing through complex trauma.

I think it’s sometimes easy to fall into the belief that our own suffering and adversity disqualifies us from a place of leadership and influence.

Something I’ve learned as my own journey has unfolded over time? It’s often hard to counsel others within their own dark places if you’ve never experienced your own.

I’ve been a client and sat on the couch. I know how much courage it can take to schedule your first counseling session. I know what it feels like to wrestle with heavy topics and work through my own life-story and personal adversity.

I not only possess “book” knowledge from my collegiate education, but also experiential application of said knowledge through clinical training experiences in a variety of mental healthcare contexts.

I’ve worked within inpatient hospitalization settings with individuals in acute crises, and have additional clinical therapy experience in both community mental health and private practice domains. I am also EMDR trained.

Although I have experience, I also know that there’s always more to learn.

One thing I can confidently say is that I’ll always be honest with you. And if I don’t have an answer, I’m more than game on exploring your inner terrain to find it alongside you.

Collaboration is a really important part of the therapeutic process. This means that active participation plays a critical role in penning a healthier, brighter future.

some fun facts

You can typically find me ….

…. lurking in the woods, inserting SpongeBob references anywhere they could potentially belong …

… lifting weights, rope-flowing, writing poetry, reading, night skating, antiquing, playing chess, gaming, jamming to any music under the sun, watching classic film …

… and playing with my 3 back-talking Siberian huskies – (whose voices I often imitate as I’ve imagined them to be in my head when they’re exceptionally loud and need everyone to know it).

I value compassion, integrity, and authenticity.
