Session Rates & Insurance

I believe that therapy is a financial commitment.

It’s also a place where you can experience powerful insights that lead to radical change, which will impact many areas of your life.

When you take that first step to start therapy, you’re often hungry for relief, and I’m eager to help you find it. But lasting relief often comes through a more intentional therapeutic relationship and process.

Deeper therapy work and at-the-root change requires the undivided attention and attunement of a well-regulated and resourced therapist.

Your therapist should be able to remain attuned to you without losing themselves in the process.

What they demonstrate should be internally practiced, not just intellectually understood.

They should be seeing their own therapist, actively self-reflect, and hold themselves accountable so they can continue providing high quality care for you.

They should have the emotional and cognitive bandwidth to be truly present and engaged with you in session.

They should model clear boundaries and a steady sense of what’s theirs and what’s not, making it easier for you to develop that same internal clarity about your own life and relationships.

The self-awareness to pick up on subtle, often unconscious dynamics unfolding in the therapy room with you – which leads to change that reaches the root, not just the surface.

These are the qualities required for deeper, more meaningful work.

And the best foundation for this type of work to unfold is within a private-pay therapy model.

Why Private-Pay is Superior to Traditional Therapy

1. I have more emotional & cognitive space for you

The average therapist who accepts insurance is seeing anywhere between 25 to 40 clients a week! As a private-pay only therapist, I typically see 8 to 10 clients a week.

Less people to juggle between means I have more time and energy to focus on YOU and YOUR CARE!

Unwavering commitment to such intentional care creates an environment where you’re able to have richer insights, reflections, and deeper change that’s more holistic and long-lasting.

2. I’m working from a place of regulation & self-awareness – not overwhelm

When your therapist’s nervous system is well-supported they’re able to work with more clarity and easefulness.

How does this benefit you?

When you feel out of control, overwhelmed, incredibly angry, or deeply anxious – I’m not easily overwhelmed by your own emotions. I’m able to meet you where you are and fully hold you amidst the chaos of it all. I don’t feel pressured to avoid or prematurely repair the moment.

This also means that when tension, disagreements, misunderstandings, or conflicts create a rupture within the relationship – I have the confidence and readiness to explore this with you rather than avoid it. Which results in more authentic conversations.

This creates space for honest emotional work, where difficult moments can be explored and understood rather than shut down– allowing subconscious belief systems that get triggered in those moments to come into awareness and be worked through.

Over time, this can lead to deeper trust in the therapeutic relationship, which translates to more meaningful and lasting change across many different areas of your life.

3. I model what healthy boundaries and a secure attachment look like — so you feel more encouraged and supported to do the same

Many women come to therapy with old relational patterns that can shape how safe they feel with other people.

I offer a consistent, emotionally steady, and respectful connection. This is a part of what secure attachment looks like. You don’t have to earn care, predict my reactions, or manage my emotional state to feel safe with me.

Why is this meaningful? It can help your nervous system learn, over time, that closeness doesn’t have to feel unpredictable or unsafe. This can soften long-standing patterns like hypervigilance, emotional monitoring, people-pleasing, or emotional withdrawal.

Feeling safe with another person often makes it possible to go deeper without shutting down.

It can also help you recognize unhealthy dynamics within your relationships outside of therapy — because you now have a clearer external reference point of what healthy attachment and boundary setting looks like.

4. I practice a more flexible & collaborative approach to therapy

I’m a completely solo practitioner free from the restrictions insurance companies place upon the quality of your treatment and overall experience.

I don’t have external administrative requirements that eat away my energy and attention. Nor do I have to contend with outside parties who may negatively influence the quality of the work we’re doing together (e.g. – paperwork, insurance billing, beholden to a group practice owner’s separate values and subsequent policies).

This means you have MORE CONTROL over the quality and direction of your own care!

And that I have the freedom and space to be more intentional with you about that care – which safeguards your true needs and concerns in therapy.

Beyond the Labyrinth Counseling values quality of work over quantity of sessions.

I’m passionate about giving 100% of my attention and energy to each individual who chooses to work with me. I want you to feel truly seen, heard, and valued as a human being.

Because of these values, I’m a private-pay only practice.

Insurance

I do not participate with any insurance panels.

In many insurance-based practices, session length, frequency, diagnoses, and paperwork are governed by contracts.

These constraints often dictate how therapy is delivered — leaving less time for your actual care, limiting confidentiality, and reducing flexibility.

I’m able to provide highly specialized care outside of insurance limitations, which allows me to deliver a higher standard of care.

I focus on what matters most: you and your progress.

My practice’s private-pay model enables me to provide profoundly attentive, personalized care:

  • Sessions are crafted to evoke deeper insight and meaningful breakthroughs.

  • I have a manageable caseload. My attention isn’t divided. I’m not distracted. This means that I can be extremely intentional and personable with you.

  • I’m fully engaged and energized — not rushed or negatively impacted by external demands of outside parties.

  • I have the ease and spaciousness to fully integrate content discussed with you. So that I can detect more complex patterns going on inside of you and offer up richer insights session after session. This can accelerate progress towards your goals.

  • I engage in my own therapy for personal growth and challenges, so I can show up in my work from a more centered and self-aware place.

Beyond the Labyrinth Counseling prioritizes consistent and thoughtful care. Helping you to make real progress that moves beyond the session room into many areas of your life!

Prioritize your healing with therapy crafted to fit your unique journey!

I’M EAGER TO WORK WITH YOU, BUT THERAPY IS OUT OF MY BUDGET

What are my options?

Talk to your Tax Professional

See if you can deduct therapy from your taxes as an out-of-pocket health expense.

Use Pre-Tax Dollars

Use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or a Health Savings Account (HSA) to pay for therapy if these funds are available.

Request a Superbill

These are receipts for services rendered. They can be submitted to your insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Coverage is determined solely by your insurance plan and reimbursement isn't guaranteed.

In many cases, reimbursement issued is partial and may represent only a small portion of the total amount paid.

Therapy as an Intentional Investment

High quality therapy is an investment in both yourself and your future.

Consider weighing the financial investment against the long-term emotional gains!

Payment

I accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash payments.

I also accept Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Please verify eligible expenses with your provider.

Payment is expected at the time of service. I require all clients to keep a valid form of payment on file to ensure payment for services rendered. Payments are processed through Stripe processor on Simple Practice at the end of session (day of service).

Phone Consultation

Wondering if we’re the right match? My practice offers a free 15-minute consultation call. This is a short, structured conversation to determine if we’re a good fit. This can help boost your confidence and clarity before deciding to move forward with therapy. It’s low-pressure and focused on helping you make the best choice for your presenting concerns.

During this call, I will:

  • Ask a few focused questions to ensure that I’m fully informed about your presenting concerns

  • Share a bit about my practice

  • Explore whether or not my approach is a good match for you

Why this is a helpful option:

  • Builds Confidence: Shopping for a therapist isn’t a one-size-fits all affair. This can give you more confidence about whether or not to move forward with me

  • Ensures Alignment: Helps both of us see if my approach matches your presenting concerns

Good Faith Estimate

Notice in Accordance with the No Suprises Act:

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” that explains the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request, or when scheduling such items or services. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of their bill for healthcare items and services before those items or services are provided.
