• You can send an inquiry through my contact page with the required information or send an email to: jessi@beyondthelabyrinthcounseling.com. I respond to inquiries in the order they are received during my regular business hours. If you send an inquiry outside of my normal operating hours, I will respond as soon as I’m back in the office and available to do so.

I typically reach out via email for initial inquiries to discuss: whether or not I have open availability, to schedule your first session, and to send you any intake paperwork required prior to our first meeting together. If I’m unable to reach you through email, I will attempt to call you via the number you provided at my earliest convenience.

**Returning Clients** If you are a returning client and need to schedule or re-schedule a follow up, you can text (260.207.4217) or email jessi@beyondthelabyrinthcounseling.com to schedule an appointment.

  • No, I’m not in-network with any insurance companies. You are responsible for 100% of the fee at time of service. I accept credit card, HSA, and FSA as form of payment.

However, some insurance plans allow for out-of-network benefits (OON). If this is something you’re curious about, I’d encourage you to contact your insurance provider to see if you are eligible for any OON benefits for mental health providers. Make sure to inquire what these benefits look like for your specific plan so that you’re fully informed.

I can then provide a form called a “Superbill” (service receipt) upon request. This is a form that has all the identifying info an insurance company requires to potentially reimburse you for a portion of the session cost. You would then submit this form to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. You can also utilize a company called “Thrizer” for assistance with this process. This reimbursement is not guaranteed, so please understand this prior to making treatment decisions. It is your responsibility to determine whether you have OON benefits with your insurance provider. Beyond the Labyrinth has no interaction or communication with insurance companies. I only provide a superbill for my clients upon request. Please also be aware that your insurance company will require a diagnosis for Superbill submission, which will then become a part of your permanent medical record.

*** Notice in Accordance with the No Surprises Act ***

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” that explains the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request, or when scheduling such items or services. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of their bill for healthcare items and services before those items or services are provided. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your “Good Faith Estimate”, you can dispute the bill. For more information or questions about your right to a “Good Faith Estimate”, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

  • My practice is unique in that I am able to provide highly specialized care without the restrictions that insurance companies sometimes place upon an individual’s desired length and modality of treatment.

This also allows me to have a more manageable caseload, where I can be extremely intentional with each individual I’m building a therapeutic relationship with. I value quality of work over quantity of sessions, and want to give 100% of my attention and energy to each individual who chooses to work with me.

Because of these values, I’m currently a private-pay-only practice. Instead of paying towards a deductible, you pay me directly, and receive a higher standard of care from a therapist wholly focused on your specific needs.

  • I cannot guarantee a response to emails, texts, or phone calls outside of regular operating hours. Beyond the Labyrinth does not provide on-call or emergency mental health services. If you are experiencing an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

  • Payment is expected at the time of service. I require all clients to keep at least one valid form of payment on file to ensure payment for services rendered. I process payments through the Stripe processor on Simple Practice at the end of session (day of service). If I am unable to collect payment due to your card being declined, this will result in a pause on your ability to schedule future appointments until your balance is paid in full.

**I require a 48-hour notice for all cancellations. All late cancellations/no-shows are subject to the full fee of the session.** If you need to cancel an appointment, you can do so via text (260.207.4217 ), email jessi@beyondthelabyrinthcounseling.com, or the Client Portal.

If there is a pattern of frequent cancellations, this may result in the loss of your reserved time-slot, loss of ability to schedule future appointments, and/or the termination of the therapeutic relationship.

I understand that life can be unpredictable and stressful at times. However, it is important to provide a respectful amount of notice when you cannot attend your scheduled appointment. This policy is required because a time commitment has been reserved exclusively for you, and when you do not cancel an appointment in advance; you may be preventing another individual from receiving treatment. Conversely, a situation may arise where another client fails to cancel, and I am unable to schedule you for an appointment due to a seemingly “full” schedule. This also allows for a more consistent and predictable schedule to continue providing the highest quality care possible.

  • Yes. I offer virtual teletherapy sessions through Telehealth by SimplePractice – (an EHR platform that is HIPAA compliant).

  • Do any of these thoughts sound relatable to you?

o   “I think I had a pretty good childhood. My parents did the best they could. It wasn’t like I was physically abused or anything. I didn’t really want for much. I don’t really think I have any trauma.”

o   “I think I experienced trauma, but I don’t feel like it was “bad enough” to be considered trauma.”

o   “Hard stuff happens to everyone. I should just get over it.”

o   “I know someone who had it way worse than me. I should be better by now.”

Do you also know these things?

    • Trauma is SUBJECTIVE:

Meaning, that it’s not measured by the objective severity of the event itself but the meaning you formulated about the experience. The age that these events happened across the course of your development can also influence its impact as well.

It’s also important to know that two separate individuals can experience the exact same situation. One may feel relatively unaffected by it while another may regularly be experiencing panic attacks, insomnia, excessive rumination etc. Neither person is “better” or “worse” for responding in the way that they did. Our minds and bodies are incredibly complex and traumatic experiences are often very personal to the individual.

    • Trauma is a UNIQUE EXPERIENCE THAT IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERYONE:

There will always be someone else in this world we can point to who may have experienced something that seems objectively more “horrific” than our own experience(s). Sometimes we may begin to believe that this fact disqualifies us from seeking treatment and support.

Think about this though … if you knew someone in the world who broke both of their arms and you fractured only one of your hands, would you refuse medical intervention because you think you’re undeserving of treatment? Of course not!

Suffering in any degree is enough of a reason to warrant seeking support.

Your feelings are valid and not negated by someone else’s experiences. The fact that you are suffering at all is “enough”.

You never need to justify your pain to me. I’m here for it. I validate it. I believe it. I want to help you move through it.

    • Trauma comes IN ALL SHAPES & SIZES:

Trauma is not just the “big-ticket” items one may typically think of — like abuse, war-zones, assaults, or life-threatening situations.

Did you know that you can experience trauma through experiences like: bullying, social rejection by your peers, emotional neglect, betrayal, perceived abandonment, loss of a close relationship, and much, much more?

If you are hesitant to reach out because you’re second-guessing whether you meet the criteria – throw the list out the window – because your experiences are valid here.

  • Yes! There are many other populations and areas of concern that I have experience with. You can find a list of these on my Services page.
