Therapy Intensives for Women:
Trauma, Stress, and Anxiety Support in Fort Wayne, Indiana
In addition to our regular 60-minute session option, our practice also provides specialized therapy intensives.
Intensive sessions offer extended time to work on trauma, burnout, anxiety, relationship issues, and more.
These sessions encourage an even deeper exploration, processing, and integration of experiences.
What are Therapy Intensives?
Therapy intensives provide additional time within a session for more focused therapeutic work. Instead of needing to pause just as an important conversation is beginning to deepen, intensives allow us to stay with the work even longer to explore richer experiences, emotions, patterns, and insights.
Intensive sessions often include the use of EMDR and IFS (“parts-work”). We may also implement other therapeutic approaches that are most appropriate for your presenting concerns and ultimate growth.
What are the Benefits of Therapy Intensives?
Support for transitions, high-stress periods, or intentional reflection
Intensives are useful when life feels chaotic, overwhelming, or in transition.
They also provide a structured opportunity for those who want to take dedicated time — perhaps during a break from work or a quieter season of life — to engage in deeper, concentrated therapeutic work, allowing space to process and integrate experiences.
Strengthening internal resources
Provides an opportunity to practice grounding, self-regulation, and other coping skills related to content discussed earlier in the session.
This can help you to feel more confident if you experience intense, uncomfortable emotions in between sessions – as you have more tools in your belt to draw upon to self-soothe when feeling emotionally overwhelmed.
Space for experimentation and new strategies
Therapy intensives can allow additional time to try new approaches, interventions, or exercises.
A deeper container for processing challenging experiences
Sometimes deeper processing involves more intense emotions and complex experiences to emerge. Longer session times act like an extended “container” for these experiences. Meaning, you have additional time to feel, express, process, and integrate material with a supportive and insightful therapist beside you.

Some of the women we work with find it helpful to:
Jot down notes or topics you want to explore beforehand
Get a good night’s sleep
Bring a comfort object to feel more grounded, if desired
Consider taking time some time off work before and after your session. This is our professional recommendation, as it allows some buffer time for you to reflect and decompress, especially if it’s an emotionally intense or thought-provoking session.
These small preparations create a supportive environment for deeper work and help you to feel more settled and present throughout the session.
